Nashville Mayor David Briley loves that people have compared him to the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other far-left members of the Washington, D.C.-group known as, “The Squad.”
Briley said as much on his Twitter page Wednesday.
“As mayor, I’ve fought to make Nashville more equitable, more just, and more welcoming to immigrants. I’m proud that the @TNGOP considers me to be in the same vein as @AOC @RashidaTlaib and @IlhanMN. Must be doing something right,” Briley tweeted.

The Squad is composed of Democrats Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.
Nashville residents received a mailer that features photos of Tlaib, Ocasio-Cortez, and Omar below the name David Briley.
“With his out of control spending and attempts to make Nashville a Sanctuary City, David Briley is turning Nashville into the type of swamp that would make this trio proud,” according to the mailer, which Briley tweeted.
The mailer went on to encourage people to “Stop Briley” on Election Day.
This is not the first time this month someone in Tennessee compared Briley and people who think like him to members of The Squad, however indirectly.
As reported, former ambassador Bill Hagerty, running for Lamar Alexander’s U.S. Senate seat to represent Tennessee, said he decided to run because of “the Democrats’ socialist agenda.”
“We must stand up to radical liberals like The Squad and their liberal socialist agenda that would deeply damage the America we know and love,” Hagerty said in announcing his run.
In the ad, Hagerty said The Squad’s goal is “to deliver more government, more crippling debt and less freedom for my children and yours’.”
As The Tennessee Star reported last week, Hagerty warned on Twitter that members of the Democratic Party have brought their immigration agenda to the Volunteer State.
“Democrats aren’t just pushing for their radical immigration policies on the national stage; it’s happening right here at home in TN. Nashville, like every city and town in America, should stand up for the rule of law,” Hagerty tweeted.
As The Star reported last week, Nashville Mayor David Briley announced the city will not assist the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, if it can legally help it.

Birds of a feather flock together.
If Cooper parrots the Republican Party line, he should be honest about it and switch parties. His practice of trying to out-conservative the G.O.P. in 1994 when he ran against Fred Thompson, backfired and caused him to loose badly to Thompson (far worse than Ford, Jr. had lost to Bob Corker in 2006). It could backfire again. If you’re going to be a right-winger, then get out of the Democratic Party, turncoat!
Briley is an Idiot!
